Player guide
This guide is for people playing on a McProgression server. You do not need access to server files or staff permissions to check your progress.
Check your progression
- Use
/mcpto open the player menu when the server has menus enabled. - Use
/mcp skillsto browse skills, or/mcp skills <skill>to see one skill's level and XP. - Use
/mcp rankto see your Global Rank. - Use
/mcp top <skill>to see a skill leaderboard. - Use
/mcp helpor/mcp help <skill> [page]to find activities that can award XP. - Use
/mcp inspectwhile holding an item to see supported actions that your current skill levels block and how much XP remains to meet those requirements.
The progression and unlocks view shows configured ranks, rewards, item and enchantment gates, world access, and XP sources. Open a link shared by your server owner to see that server's configuration. A shipped preset is an example and may not match the server you are playing on.
Choose what progression feedback you see
When the server allows personal preferences, use /mcp preferences to adjust Skill XP and General XP feedback, level-up and rank notices, and the Global Rank bossbar. Without menus, use /mcp feedback skill|general [actionbar|chat|off], /mcp preferences skill-level|rank [on|off|default], or /mcp hud [on|off|toggle].
Use /mcp preferences reset to return your choices to the server's defaults. If a preference is unavailable, the server owner may have disabled that control. Personal display choices affect only what you see; they do not change XP awards, unlocks, rewards, or other players' displays. Reward messages and action-denial explanations remain visible. See Player display preferences for details.
Claim timed XP keys
If the server gives you a timed award key, use /mcp keys to check pending keys and /mcp keys claim to claim them. No staff permission is needed to claim a key delivered to you.
If an item is still locked
Requirements apply to specific actions, such as crafting, equipping, or using an item. An item may be obtainable through another route before a particular action is allowed. Loot, trades, commands, and other plugins can have separate rules. Ask a server moderator or owner if you need help understanding a server-specific rule.
The server's configuration determines which sources award XP and which actions are gated. The player view and /mcp inspect show supported configured requirements; they cannot report every external plugin or command that may grant an item.
