Progression planner

Use this planner to compare the shipped progression presets, estimate how long ranks may take under a play pattern, or prepare edited YAML files for your Minecraft server. It runs in your browser. Imported files are parsed locally and are never uploaded or saved by this site.

These are planning estimates, not promises. The planner assumes a steady weekly XP rate. Real play varies with activity, server rules, rewards, boosts, event eligibility, AFK detection, and player choices. The result is only as useful as the assumptions you enter.

How XP and ranks work

For a new player: XP is earned by enabled server activities. Each skill has a curve that sets the XP required for the next level. For a quadratic curve, each next level costs base + growth × (level − 1)². XP costs are cumulative; a rank at level 25 requires the sum of levels 1 through 25.

For experienced players: Global Rank is a separate score. It adds the current levels of enabled skills to whole General XP points, calculated as floor(General XP ÷ XP per score point). It does not add skill XP totals directly. The configured tier thresholds then map that score to a Global Rank.

Open and Progressive share their shipped skill XP settings; their access rules differ. Long-form raises the Mining and Woodcutting XP curves. A server may have edited any preset after installation, so import its current files for a closer estimate.

Set a play pattern

Enter an average rate while focused on that skill and the number of focused hours you expect each week. For example, 40 XP/hour × 5 hours/week models 200 skill XP per week. These rates are your assumptions; the plugin does not measure XP/hour for this planner. Skill hours can overlap when one activity awards XP to more than one skill, so the sum may exceed 168 hours. Treat them as focused XP rates, not a literal weekly schedule; the Global Rank simulation applies all of the weekly skill rates together.

Include only General XP you expect to earn. The calculator does not assume every configured reward is collected.

What the assumptions produce

Every timeline starts at skill level 0 and General XP 0. Configuration imports tune rules and XP rates; they do not import player profiles or current balances. For an existing player’s remaining time, estimate the rates manually and treat the zero-start total as a reference rather than a personalized forecast.

Configure and export (server owners)

This section is intended for server owners and administrators. You can use a preset unchanged for estimates, or import the YAML files your server uses. The form edits skill curves, level caps, activity XP, skill rank tiers, Global Rank conversion and tiers, and General XP settings. The full items.yml and world-access.yml are editable in local YAML text areas. Make edits, validate the planner fields, export each file, then review it and run the plugin audit before applying it.
